RAR is being developed by Eugene Roshal. The version 3 compression uses 4 MB sliding window LZ or PPMII (PPMd by Dmitry Shkarin) for general purpose compression with additional data type specific algorithms. [1]
RAR is a powerful tool allowing you to manage and control archive files. Console RAR supports archives only in RAR format, the names of which usually have a ".rar" extension. ZIP and other formats are not supported. Windows users may install GUI RAR version - WinRAR, which is able to process many more archive types.the program documentationRAR features include:
